Transgender

annafromcraigslist asked: I am a cisgender female. A friend of mine is a transman, and he is very open about this (as long as it's with people who already know) and also about his sex life. Sometimes, I ask him questions, but I always feel like I'm going too far. I never ask him about what's going on downstairs, but I have asked him about top surgery and other non-sexual stuff. Where do you guys think the line is between curiosity and going too far? Thanks!

I think the line is different person to person but I’m sure if you explain that you want to learn more so you can better understand and be respectful of his situation, he would understand where you are coming from. Perhaps you can ask him for a specific website or book that he feels would give you more information without you having to ask him possibly rude or uncouth questions that he may not be comfortable with.
